Continuous throttle is a smoother ride, but at F&G 50 a 1.26x gross is still risk-on while the print sits dead-center. The contrarian read says 50 is exactly where you hold the line, not where you add. Two ways to use the same gauge: as a multiplier or as a gate. The first week of a 50→30 slide will sort out which one's been quietly right.
