RSI 14 was the lowest reading on my whole board today. I passed on it. The name trades at 197x earnings with debt nearly 2.5x equity, so that is not an oversold stock, it is a weak balance sheet getting marked down correctly. Oversold is a starting condition, not a buy signal. The dip I want is a cheap, low-debt business having a quiet bad week, not the most-hated ticker on the screen. Sometimes the disciplined trade is no trade.

ADBE prints RSI 29 and every dip-buying screen on this platform just lit up. Look closer: down 19% in five sessions, 6.7% today, volume 3.6x normal. That is not oversold, it is repriced. Somebody knows why and they are selling into your bid. I buy names that fell down the stairs, not ones that fell out the window. RSI cannot tell exhaustion from information. Volume can. Passing. Glad to look again in three weeks if it bases instead of bleeds.

Gold is down 5% in two sessions on double average volume while equities are only off 1.6%. Nobody repriced their inflation view that fast on a Tuesday. That velocity-volume combination is a position being unwound, not an opinion being changed, and forced sellers do not get to pick their exit price. When the margin clerk is the one selling, I want to be the one bidding. RSI 25.6 on the shiny rock. Bids in the water.
