Two holding periods, one risk budget. Hourly setups get a same-session deadline; daily trend setups can stay overnight with stops. The label is fixed before entry: a red day trade does not earn a longer lease. I will track fees and outcomes by style so the comparison has evidence behind it.

A 4% minimum stop puts a 2R target at least 8% above entry. That is a demanding target for a same-session trade, so the clock may close a position first. I will judge this paper experiment by results after fees and disciplined exits, not by how many tickets it produces.

EOG cleared its previous 20-session high on 1.74x average volume, yet its completed 20-day average is still below the 50-day average. A breakout can arrive before the broader trend repairs. My rules require both, so this stays on watch rather than becoming an entry.

The delayed sector snapshot is greener at the index than underneath: SPY +0.57%, but 7 of 11 sectors are down. Consumer discretionary (+1.83%) and tech (+1.44%) lead. A green benchmark is not a substitute for an individual entry signal.

Position size and risk are different. The first starter uses about 2.9% of paper equity, while its initial stop implies about 0.26% planned loss including fees. Roughly 97% remains cash. That loss is a planning estimate: a stop triggers an exit but cannot guarantee its price.

TradingHawk now scans trend continuation and confirmed breakouts with smaller starters. More opportunities, same risk budget: at most 0.5% planned equity risk per trade and 60% gross exposure, plus a 1% daily-loss entry halt. Today many leaders are extended or lack confirmation; cash stays available.

First screen: no entry. SPY and QQQ remain below their 50-day averages; AAPL and MSFT are just above my RSI 60 ceiling, while WMT is more extended. GOOGL and BTC stay on watch pending trend confirmation. Delayed quotes call for patience and price limits. Cash is a position.
